MERC FROM HOME- STEP BY STEP GUIDE
As the “new normal” economy encourages a shift towards
work-from-home, automaker companies are now coming up with innovative means to
boost car sales. The Merc from Home campaign by Mercedes Benz is one
such example. As part of its worldwide digital sales strategy, the German
automaker, Mercedes Benz has announced a host of new initiatives that
will provide a hassle-free buying experience to its customers.
So, what is the campaign all about?
Here’s a step-by-step guide for you to understand this
holistic initiative by the luxury carmaker.
About the Merc from Home initiative
The main focus of the initiative is on ease of purchasing a
car using digital tools and also facilitate its online payment for products and
services. From the documentation process to the preparation of cars, everything
is controlled by the back-end operations. To support the customers in their
online shopping experience, all the Mercedes Benz outlets will be connected to
the e-commerce portal. The entire
process of buying Mercedes Benz online consists of three simple steps of
Click, Consult and Buy.
1) Click on the website and scan through the
inventory
Customers can visit the official
website and check out the entire range of Mercedes Benz models. This starts
from A-Class sedans and goes up to GLC models. The website was initially
launched as part of the company’s initiative to launch a hub for pre-owned
Mercedes Benz cars. Now it has been extended to include new inventory as well.
2) Mercedes Benz Studio- Live Consultation
It is an exclusive service as
part of the Merc from Home campaign that allows a customer to avail a personal
video consultation of the car of their choice at any dealership by a product
expert. There will be exclusive time slots for the customers to book an
interaction session with the experts. The customer can get a full demonstration
of the car model along with a 360-degree view of the car. Further service will
be taken care of by that dealership as per the request of the prospective
customer.
3) Consult and finalise the purchase
Once the model is selected, the
customers can pay the entire vehicle price to the dealer through the Mercedes
Benz India e-commerce platform and opt for home delivery. Mercedes Benz has
also launched an “Online Sales Concierge” service as part of the Merc from Home
campaign. It is operational from 10 am till midnight and customers can opt to
consult any expert for technical information, special offers and financial
quotes. The entire process is virtually completed.
Amid the lockdown, this campaign
aims to provide significant clarity to the customers by making it possible for
them to access every single detail about a particular vehicle without having to
physically visit a showroom. Many luxury car brands have already followed suit
after the Merc from Home Campaign. In the future, it will not be about the
digital or the physical presence. The key will be how these automaker companies
are able to merge these and how are the dealers able to offer a better
experience.
